MISSION & GOAL:

The purpose of the Spiritual Formation classes is to provide a Christ-centered learning environment in which children can hear the Good News of Jesus and grow spiritually, intellectually, socially, emotionally, and physically.

CLASSES:

1. Pre-School (Age 3 by Christmas 2010)
2. Kindergarten & 1st Grade
3. 2nd & 3rd Grade
4. 4th & 5th Grade

Spiritual Formation Classes will meet during the first service. 9:00-10:15 am Weekly.

The Spiritual Formation Classes are about growth. At the core of that wonder filled process of growth is love, a love based on God's love for us. It is a love for the children that is patient, caring, kind, forgiving, hopeful, and trusting. It has faith in each child and his/her capabilities and abilities.

Spiritually, the children need opportunities to:
1. worship, pray, & sing
2. hear that Jesus loves them and that He is their friend
3. learn that the Bible is God's Word
4. see themselves as part of God's family

Intellectually, the children need to learn:
1. at their own pace
2. through their senses
3. through exploration and discovery

Emotionally, the children need:
1. unconditional love and acceptance
2. sense of security and stability

Socially, the children need:
1. to play and interact with other children and adults
2. opportunities for dramatic play
3. opportunities to share their ideas
4. models for playing cooperatively
5. models for using words to appropriately express feelings

Physically, the children need:
1. physical care
2. safe environment
3. opportunities for large muscle and small muscle development
